Hi, I'm Vitalij 👋

Senior Product Designer based in Budapest, Hungary. Born and raised in Mukachevo (Munkács), Ukraine. I moved here in 2019 and quickly fell in love with the city: its architecture, its people, and the energy of big-city life.

Outside of work, I love travelling, photography, and spending time in museums and galleries. I also practise gymnastics, and this year's goal is to finally nail a handstand. You can see more of my travel photos on Instagram and Unsplash.

My design philosophy

Build your own tools

Great tools make great work possible. When the right one doesn't exist, I build it, from a custom design system to a custom CRM. AI-assisted coding now lets me go from idea to working tool in days.

Design as jazz

Great jazz is a conversation built on trust. Players listen, pick up each other's ideas, and take turns leading. That's how I work with developers, analysts, and users: no solo acts, just the best idea carrying the tune.

Endless curiosity

Curiosity is a design skill. I believe everyone—from developers and users to partners and colleagues—has something to teach me. I listen closely and treat every conversation as a learning opportunity.

Care vs carelessness

I like how Jony Ive puts it: "People can sense care and can sense carelessness." Care is how we show respect to people we'll never meet, and it lives in a thousand small, seemingly unimportant decisions.

2019–2026

2022–2026Senior Product Designer

Promoted into the senior role, taking on Phoenix, Loxon's low-code/no-code parametrisation tool, alongside Collection-X (Loxon's next-gen collection product). • Designed core parts of Phoenix with the development team, the parametrisation tool that moved project configuration to Low-Code/No-Code platform • Parametrised the product hands-on alongside business analysts • Mentored business analysts on UX best practices, including information architecture, visual hierarchy, and UX copywriting • Continuously presented design decisions to stakeholders • Established a framework for post-launch user research, using JTBD, personas, and user flows as hypotheses for usability and A/B testing

2019–2022Product Designer

Joined as a mid-level product designer on the next generation of Loxon Collection and promoted to a senior role in the product development department, working within cross-functional Agile teams and later extending design ownership across additional modules • Worked across the full collection scope and its business modules, from pre-collection to legal • Helped to design the Customer 360 view, role-based dashboards, the promise-to-pay flow, and a self-service application (PWA) • Extended and maintained the design system with scalable, WCAG-accessible components, patterns, iconography, and illustrations

• Worked with small agencies as a UX/UI designer and web developer for clients including Profolio, AVK, and Lexicon • Ran discovery with business owners and PMs, including competitive analysis and user interviews • Designed wireframes, prototypes, and visual UI, then built them in WordPress • Joined AlfaProfit (Cyprus) remotely in a seven-person web production team building online business solutions • Built responsive websites with HTML/CSS/JS as a front-end developer and contributed to agency projects
